Holding Space, With Intention

Heather M. Walker, M.A., LPC, NCC

Heather Walker is a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas, and a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps. Her lived experience in high-intensity environments informs the grounded, authentic care she brings into the therapy space — where clients are invited to show up fully and be wholly seen.

She earned a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Liberty University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a concentration in Child & Adolescent Development from Southern New Hampshire University. Her clinical experience spans community mental health, nonprofit crisis services, and integrated care — with work at Vibrance Health (formerly MEHOP), The Warrior’s Refuge, and most recently, Texana Center, the local mental health authority. Her time at Texana, though brief, deepened her understanding of local systems and strengthened her commitment to mental health advocacy at the community level.

Heather now works primarily with teens and adults, focusing on trauma, generational healing, veteran and first responder care, and adults navigating ADHD or OCD. While she has experience in play therapy and psychological testing, her current work is centered on supporting clients through high-impact, life-shaping experiences — with honesty, compassion, and curiosity.

Heather integrates cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), elements of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and multiple suicide prevention models in her practice. Her approach is relational, intentional, and rooted in the belief that therapy should feel like a conversation — one where connection, growth, and healing can happen side by side.
